Based on Brisbanes Soutside at Nathan (Mt. Gravatt area), the QAS is home to many of Queenslands and the nations top athletes. The QAS has consistently produced most of Australias medal winning swimmers with an impressive record. Based at the stadium that hosted the 1982 commonwealth games it has 2 tracks, enough seatingto host rock stars like U2 adn a whole host of impressive sporting facilities including gym, biomechanics, a swimming and recovery centre. Best of all its just a short stroll through native bushland to the Nathan campus of Griffith Univesity

The QAS is also home to the Centre of Excellence for Applied Sports Science Research that focuses on four key areas. The sports technology area is closely aligned with Sports Bio-Engineering and has been a fruitful partnership. Currently our researchers are working with QAS sports Scientists and the QAS Centre of Excellence to provide on-track and in-pool motion analysis using portable microelectronics solutions.more info...
