Setup in the seventies the AIS was designed to adopt a scientific approach to the training of athletes, a few years on and the rest of the world has copied this idea and Australia has to ask: where to next? Beginning in late 2002 the AIS and Griffith univesity formed a partnership to develop wearable technologies for the preperation of athletes. Several international patents and inventions later the work continues through the applied physiology and biomechanics departments. Inconjunction with the AIS and the CRC for microtechnology we developed the famous Traqua, miniTraqua Rover and MinmaxX technologies for Australia's elite athletes. |
