In 2009 the Queensland Sports Technology Cluster designed the worlds first electronic sports engineering degree for partner Griffith University following careful assessment of Griffith's existing programmes is engineering and sports sciences. 


It maximises existing capabilities in the engineering and sports sciences, together with new speacilist subjects. Popular in the UK, sports engineering degrees are mostly based on mechanical engineering. This degree focuses on instrumentation and seeks to meet the technological requirements of sport today. 


A worlds first electronics based Sports Engineering degree, combining the best of sports science, micro electronic engineering and biomedical disciplines. This degree at Griffith University was driven by demand from the sports industry and is proving immensly popular already.
