Keen tennis enthusiast As Director of the Research Centre for Wireless Monitoring, Griffith University and Program Manager of the CRC for Microtechnology, Thiel has been intimately involved in the development of sports related monitoring equipment and the interpretation of inertial signals. He has graduated over 10 PhD students in the fields of sensors technology, wireless sensor networks, wireless communications and data analysis techniques. He was the principal supervisor of recent PhD graduate Andrew Wixted, with a thesis on inertial sensors for running. |
